Doulas vary in their more specific specialties, so it is important to find a doula that best supports your unique end of life wishes. For example, Before You Go offers additional expertise in interior design and space planning.

Most people seek end of life services when they have received a terminal diagnosis or are approaching end of life and wish to receive guidance, education and support. However, people in any life stage may work with a death doula to explore their relationship with death.

No. The care provided is considered non-medical in the doula role and they cannot legally provide medical care.

Yes. Your doula will gladly work cooperatively alongside your hospice care team. This means they will collaborate with your hospice team nurse, social worker, and chaplain to ensure that your end of life desires and needs are realized.

No. Currently, End of Life Doula services are not covered by insurance or Medicare.
